Iām a designer, educator, scholar, author, scientific researcher, and strategic leader ā and for the past 40 years, I've been driven by one central question: how do we build cities that are truly resourceful, walkable, and liveable?
That question has taken me from design studios to university lecture halls, from peer-reviewed research to advising municipalities and developers on four continents.
Urban transformation does not happen by accident. It takes the right thinking, applied at the right scale, at the right moment.
The following pages present my profile. It's easy to see the TED talks, the awards, the landmark projects ā and assume that's the whole story. It isn't. The more interesting story is the one behind them.
Looking back, it has been four busy and rewarding decades dedicated to Architecture and Urbanism.
Here's where I've been ā and what I've built.
